September 1981 - The Omicron Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, at West Virginia University visits Syracuse at the request of director of Bands, Dr. Robert L. Spradling. A Colony of Kappa Kappa Psi is quickly formed at Syracuse University later that month.

October 1982 - The S.U. Colony completes the First Degree under the leadership of the Omicron Chapter.

November 19, 1982 - The S.U. Colony completes the Second Degree at West Virginia University during the weekend of the Orangemen vs. Mountaineers football game.

December 4, 1982 - The Eta Phi Chapter is formally installed as an active Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.

July 27-August 3, 1985 - Eta Phi attends its first National Convention, held at the University of Kansas.

November 1985 - First Annual Brotherhood vs. Pledge Football Game. Brotherhood defeats the Beta Pledge Class.

July 26-August 1, 1987 - Eta Phi attends its second National Convention, held at the University of Michigan.

August 1987 - Eta Phi, along with the Eta Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, institutes the Band Buddy Program for incoming Marching Band Freshmen and Rookies.

February 13-14, 1988 - Eta Phi and Eta Alpha host the Northern Precinct Convention for the first time.

August 3-5, 1989 - Eta Phi attends its third National Convention, held at the University of Oklahoma. Brother in attendance visit the final resting place of Bohumil Makovsky.

November 15, 1989 - Premiere of "Riverwalk", a piece in memory of S.U. students who lost their lives in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on December 20, 1988. Commissioned by Eta Phi and Eta Alpha.

March 1989 - Brother Nathan Avrunin is voted Northeast District Member-at-Large at the Northeast District Convention held at West Chester University.

March 1989- Eta Phi is awarded the Most Improved Chapter in the Northeast District.

March 1990 - Eta Phi is awarded the Governor’s Cup for Top Chapter in the Northeast District.

February 1991 - Eta Phi and Eta Alpha host the Northern Precinct Convention for the second time.

March 1991 - Brother Bill Gehrman is voted Northeast District President at the Northeast District Convention held at James Madison University

July 1991 - Eta Phi attends its fourth National Convention, held at the University of Maryland. Here, Skull Guy is born during a meeting.

1992 - Dr. Spradling wins the A. Frank Martin Award, a National award given to college Band Directors.

April 1992 - Eta Phi officially adopts Skull Guy as its mascot.

March 11-14, 1993 - Eta Phi and Eta Alpha host the Northeast District Convention for the second time. Here, the Eta Phi Step Team makes its District debut. Many representatives find themselves stranded in Syracuse following the "Storm of the Century". District declares it "the greatest District Convention of all Time".

August 3-8, 1993 - Eta Phi attends its fifth National Convention, held at Purdue University.

October 26, 1993 - Director of Bands Dr. Lawrence C. Clark is installed as the Sponsor of Eta Phi after Dr. Spradling leaves for a new position at Western Michigan University.

October 1994 - Eta Phi becomes the Big Brother Chapter of the University at Buffalo’s Colony.

March 1994 - Brother Mark McClennan is voted Northeast District Member-at-Large at the Northeast District Convention held at Virginia Tech University.

August 1995 - Eta Phi attends its sixth National Convention, held at the Magical World of Disney in Orlando, Florida.

October 1995 - Dr. John M. Laverty is installed as the Sponsor of Eta Phi, following his hiring as Director of Bands.

November 21, 1995 - The first Annual Brotherhood Thanksgiving Dinner occurs.

February 24, 1996 - The University at Buffalo is installed as the Kappa Eta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.

August 1997 - Eta Phi attends its seventh National Convention, held at Arizona State University.

December 4, 1997 - For the Chapter’s 15th Anniversary, Dr. Bradley P. Ethington is installed as the Sponsor of Eta Phi.
March 21, 1998 - The Eta Phi Chapter is awarded the Governor’s Cup for the second time.

March 27-29, 1998 - Eta Phi and Eta Alpha commemorates its 15th Anniversary with a weekend long celebration, attended by both Chapters’ Alumni, and Brothers and Sisters from throughout the nation.

July 28-August 1, 1999 - Eta Phi attends its eighth National Convention, held in St. Louis, Missouri.

March 22-24, 2001 - Eta Phi and Eta Alpha host the Northeast District Convention for the third time.

July 24-29, 2001 - Eta Phi attends its ninth National Convention, held in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Fall 2002 - Dr.John M. Laverty is appointed Co-Governor of the Northeast District.

December 4, 2002 - Eta Phi celebrates its 20th Anniversary

March 1-3 2002 - Wava Banes, national founder of Tau Beta Sigma, visits Syracuse University. She is inducted as the first Honorary Member of the Joint Chapter of Eta Phi and Eta Alpha.

March 2002 - Brother James Whitehead is appointed Northeast District Secretary/Treasurer.

January 2003 - Dr. John M. Laverty is installed as the sponsor of Eta Phi.

March 13-15 2003- Brother Collin Long is voted Northeast District Vice-President and Brother James Whitehead is elected Northeast District Secretary/Treasurer at the Northeast District Convention held at James Madison University. The Eta Phi chapter wins the Northeast District Governor's Commendation award for a continual high level of service to the Syracuse University Bands.

August 25, 2004-Mr. Peter A. Acosta is installed as the Sponsor of Eta Phi.

Fall 2004-Mr. Peter Acosta is appointed Co-Governor of the Northeast District.

July 26-31, 2005-Eta Phi attends its eleventh National Convention, held in Lexington, Kentucky. At this convention Eta Phi and Eta Alpha win the National Fight Song Championship.

October 2, 2005-Mr. Justin J. Mertz (Rho Class) is installed as the Sponsor of Eta Phi.

November 16, 2005-Premiere of "Ancient Irish Hymn", a piece by Sean O'Loughlin (Kappa Class) to celebrate the retirement of Janet Ashworth who worked in the SU Bands Office for 20 years. The piece was commissioned by Eta Phi and Eta Alpha.

March 2006-Eta Phi wins "Excellence in Advancement of Music" Award at the District Convention
